HAWKFEST DRUM AND DANCE

October ??, 2014
Dragon Hills Retreat (near Carrollton, GA)
Hawkfest is a Drum and Dance Festival put on BY Drummers and Dancers!
Started as a small gathering of friends who are dedicated to the joy and
fun of dancing and drumming, Hawkfest has become a gathering where
dancers and drummers, fire spinners and hoopers gather to share
techniques, music, and to expand their knowledge. For the past two
years, we have come together creating Magickal and unforgettable
experiences! Hawkfest is an Adults ONLY festival someplace where adults
come together in a safe place for GROWN UP TIME! We have done this for a
few reasons. Not only is this a time for Adult fun, the gathering has
areas where Skyclad (full nudity) is permitted. In the past kids have
been part of our gathering. The adults who attend want to feel the
freedom to be Adults. Most children were not raised in such a free and
open culture. Because of this, we prefer that those who come to Hawkfest
be 18 years of age and over. In case you haven’t figured it out yet,
HAWKFEST IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT! Every night transports you into a place
where you can dance, drum, spin, hoop, and celebrate until the sun
rises! It is a time outside of time where we set aside egos and drum and
dance finding the rhythmic ecstasy of our extraordinary lives. Dancers,
Fire Spinners and Hoopers come to Hawkfest to experience not only their
own heart and soul but the hearts and souls of everyone in the Circle
each other and the drummers. You will walk away from Hawkfest a better
player, a better dancer, a better hooper, or a better fire spinner!!!

this through community rituals, community meals, nightly drumming and
dancing around the ritual fire, and other shenanigans promoting a
feeling of closeness, unity, spirituality, and just plain fun away from
the mundane. As with other festivals, there will be workshops, games,
rituals, and drumming and dancing into the night. There will be
merchants and an auction of unique items made by our own craftsmen that
are unavailable anywhere else. Also, we have nightly fire spinning and
are offering fire spinning workshops for those who want to give it a
try. Phoenix Festivals, Inc., and the entire Phoenix Phamily would like
be bid you “Hail and Welcome.” Phoenix Phyre is our spring event. Autumn
Meet is our fall event. You will be welcomed into the loving arms of

GATHERING OF THE TRIBES

October 16-19, 2014
Presented by the Celtic Church of Dynion Mwyn
Cherokee Farms, LaFayette, GA
In March of 1967, Rhuddlwm Gawr and Dynion Mwyn established “The
Gathering of the Tribes” (the first Pagan “Gathering of the Tribes”
festival recorded) in Western Maryland. In 1978 Dynion Mwyn held the
12th Annual “Gathering of the Tribes”, with a National Pagan/Wiccan
Leadership conference at Unicoi conference Center near Helen Georgia. It
was attended by Ray Buckland, Margot Adler, Selena Fox, and many other
national Pagan leaders. This gathering, held at the time of the Summer
Solstice, brought together Pagans from many paths and places from all
over the United States..In 1991, We held the Gathering and hosted Janet
and Stewart Farrar, Otter G’Zell, and several other international Pagan
Leaders. In 2007 and 2008 we held the Gathering and hosted Maxine
Sanders, Chris Penczak and other national Pagan Authors.
In 2014 the 47th anniversary of the Gathering of the Tribes will again
focus on leadership and building pagan community. We are inviting those
same leaders, as well as current authors and groups to help us determine
what has changed and what has stayed the same in the intervening years.
This will help us all determine what are the problems and what are the
solutions of the New Paganism. To help us identify these problems and
solutions, we will focus on relinking with Nature, building community,
establishing leadership training, and working with pagan culture across
a diversity of traditions and paths. There will be panel discussions,
rituals, workshops, belly dancing, music and great fun.
The 46th Gathering of the Tribes Leadership Conference is asking the
question: “What Do We Need from Our Leaders?

Denver, CO 7/20/2014 ? Organizers of 1. Beltania, the annual Pagan
Beltane festival and musicfest sponsored by Living Earth Church,
announce today that they have secured a new venue and date for the
festival. The 8th annual event will be held May 14-17, 2015, at La Foret
Conference and Retreat Center in the Black Forest area of Colorado
between Colorado Springs and Denver. Why Move date and location? While
the organizers felt the previous location near Florence, Colorado was
beautiful and the festival’s relationship with the landowners has been
strong and positive, the rugged grounds, weather and wind patterns, and
the lack of water, electricity, and permanent structures prompted an
investigation into alternatives. About the new venue: Over 400 acres of
majestic Ponderosa Pines provide ample shade to the private and peaceful
grounds of La Foret, which include ancient Ute medicine trees and prayer
trees. Facilities include rustic historic buildings, a unique
indoor/outdoor log timber concert venue, merchant area, and community
center. There is a permanent stone labyrinth and well- maintained roads.
Lodging options include semi-private cabins and yurts with electricity
and a heated bath house. Tent camping is available as well as parking
for RV campers. Pricing has not yet been announced.

many paths converge, allowing us to share knowledge, inspire others,
heal one another, and strengthen our bonds as a magical community of men
who love men. Carrying the Light to Others We embrace the sacred duty of
being priests unto our own people, for ours is a special journey rich in
meaning and rooted in history. As shamans, rootworkers, soothsayers,

WOMEN’S GATHERING

May 16-18. 2014
Our Haven, French Lick, IN
The Female Body The Our Haven Women’s Gathering was established as a way
for the women of the Our Haven Community to come together as women. In
current society we are most often separated into small family units. We
generally grow up with our mothers and sisters as the only other women
in our lives. There are those of us who are lucky enough to also have
grandmothers, aunts and sometimes close friends. However, rarely does
this amount to community. In reality, our larger culture cultivates
rather toxic relationships between women. Society expects us to be
competitive and catty toward one another. At Our Haven we are striving
to reject these notions. We wish to come together and rebuild what
modern society has torn down. At the 2014 Women’s Gathering, we will be
focusing on the most basic of what makes us women: The Female Body. We
will be discussing menstruation, female genitalia, sexuality and
transgender, among other subjects. There will be kid’s activities for
the young ladies in attendance. Also, we will have physical activities
for the adult women such as Zumba, Yoga and Belly Dancing. Ladies of all
ages who live their daily lives as women are welcome to attend. Our
Haven is home to many lifestyles, religions and backgrounds. Come and
commune with us! Nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of southern
Indiana’s countryside is Our Haven, an 175 acre nature sanctuary of
beautiful deciduous forests and reclaimed fields for all who wish to
come enjoy its clear creeks, natural springs, and secluded areas.

all pleasure and purple, and drunkenness of the innermost sense, desire
you.” – Aleister Crowley, Liber al Vel Legis The ancients knew the

sacraments was the hieros gamos or “sacred marriage rite.” Ours is a

HAWKFEST DRUM AND DANCE

August 22-24, 2014
Brushwood, Sherman, NY
